I love this book, it’s being really easy to understand for beginners and loads of fun. It also has funky backing tracks. It’s a great book and I’d recommend it to all beginners!
It is clear that the author is a musician and more importantly a teacher! This book gives a refreshing approach to teaching music notation through fun, colourful pieces with pictures and tablature as well as the traditional notes! As a violin teacher, I have found this book excellent for beginners. It is also very accessible for beginner ensembles and the backing tracks are great! My pupils love it!
The simplified notation has definitely helped my son pick things up more quickly. He finds reading regular music notation difficult and this book has given him a different approach. The backing tracks are imaginative and recorded to a high standard - I would certainly recommend Dynamite Strings.
My students and I are huge fans of Dynamite Strings. Violins at the Disco has become an instant classic, and we are now using Rockin' Rock Climbers as a warm up at the beginning of every lesson now we're using all three fingers. As a fellow teacher, I really appreciate that you have essentially snuck in lots of technical exercises... but in a very musical way. It really is a brilliant book!
