Fantastic modern approach to beginner violin

It is clear that the author is a musician and more importantly a teacher! This book gives a refreshing approach to teaching music notation through fun, colourful pieces with pictures and tablature as well as the traditional notes! Backing tracks available for free on Spotify makes lessons fun and engaging for students. Looking forward to book number 2!

Excellent book that is appealing to both boys and girls

My son has been learning the violin for a couple of years and is now the only boy in his violin group of quite 'girly' girls. His teacher is very careful to cater to everyone's interests, but things can get a bit pink, fluffy kittens sometimes!! I especially like that there are plenty of songs in this book that have adventurous titles such as Abseiling Down, Superheros and Rockin' Rock Climbers. It really helps him stay interested.

    An innovative and colourful approach

I was recommended this by a colleague after hearing some of her students playing pieces from the book. The colour-coding is not only helpful in supporting students’ note reading, but makes the book look appealing. The illustrations are fun and my students enjoy playing along to the backing tracks which take inspiration from a lot of different genres. This is an inventive and innovative book and I hope there will be a sequel. High quality beginner repertoire is not always easy to find!

Accessible violin book with music kids love to play

I was compelled to try this book by the fantastically energetic cover - clearly a book with an interesting and different take on learning the violin! What sets this apart are the songs which are genuinely brilliant - different styles and simple enough to reward beginners with that vital sensation of making progress right from the start. It doesn't rely on boring, monotonous exercises that can put some learners off. I highly recommend this book for young, enthusiastic students wanting to learn th

    Thank you

Hi Georgina, we came to one of your workshops in half term and bought a book from you. My girls (F & M) loved the workshop and we also wanted to report back that the book has been a big hit!! We love all the different styles of music and also how it's all presented. The colours and numbers/letters make it all so straightforward: even I can work out what's going on now and so can help them. Thanks again and good luck with it all from N, F &M :)
