Welcome to the Dynamite Strings Violin School - come and join in the fun!
Having recently moved to Windsor, Georgina is now offering lessons from her home studio. Choose from small group, paired or individual.
Georgina currently teaches at St. Paul's Cathedral School and is growing her roster of private pupils in Windsor. An enthusiastic and encouraging teacher, creativity is at the heart of her practice. You can find more out about her experience and approach here

Lessons are billed in advance in half-termly blocks and run for 33 sessions a year. A deposit of £30 is required to secure your place.
I have a limited number of instruments available to rent at £20/term and am more than happy to advise/help you source an instrument.
About Georgina
Tell us about your qualifications and experience teaching the violin?
I currently teach at St. Paul's Cathedral School and have recently moved to Windsor where I'm very excited to be starting my own violin school!
For the last fifteen years I've taught in schools across London setting many strings projects up from scratch as well as teaching privately. In 2022 I launched my own series of tutor books for beginners called Dynamite Strings which has now sold over 1200 copies both in the UK and Japan.
Since writing Dynamite Strings, I have presented papers at the ESTA (European String Teachers Assoc.) conference in Cardiff and am a regular contributor to their magazine as well as Music Teacher magazine.
I started learning the violin aged 4 via the Suzuki method (I use many aspects of the Suzuki approach in my own teaching). l won a scholarship to my secondary school aged 10 and went on the study at the RNCM and Manchester University. I also gained a PGCE from the UEL in 2014 and have taught classroom Music at both primary and secondary level up to GCSE.
What is your approach to lessons?
I really enjoy playing and teaching the violin and it is very important to me that my students enjoy their lessons too. Instilling confidence in students and a love for music is one of my main aims as a teacher.
My students have ranged from three to sixty-five, from beginners to Grade 8. Whether preparing students for ABRSM exams or experimenting with the electric violin, I am committed to helping students get what they want from their violin lessons and showing them the many facets of the violin. In addition to teaching, I am also an active performer.
Although my training was classical, my ability to improvise and interest in different styles has led to quite a varied career. I was nominated for 'Instrumentalist of the Year 2018' at the UK Americana Awards, have performed with blues musician Seasick Steve, musical theatre star Ramin Karimloo, John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin, Mumford and Sons and Paloma Faith.
Why learn the violin?
The violin is one of the most fantastically versatile and expressive instruments you can learn to play. Whilst playing violin alone or with piano accompaniment is great fun, joining an orchestra, chamber music group, folk/jazz/blues/rock band (yes, violins can definitely rock!), or playing at an Irish session offer a rewarding social dynamic to music-making that can be enjoyed at all stages of life.
As young people approach their teenage years, their tastes in music often start to evolve. From Bach to Justin Bieber to Bob Marley, you can play it on a violin!
On a more practical note, student violins are relatively inexpensive and very easy to carry around. Please feel free to get in touch if you have any questions!
